With perfect pectorals and chizzled abs, the beefcake of Baywatch is back for a one night stand this evening at the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Featuring absurd music videos, clips of his best work, and a Hassel/off costume dance competition, the theatre is hosting a career-spanning Hoffman extravaganza beginning at midnite. Besides gratuitous nipple shots and Knight Rider clips, the night will wrap with a showing of his 1979 sci-fi C-movie epic, Starcrash.
Tagged as "Galatic Adventures Beyond Your Wildest Dreams", Starcrash is said to be an absu-ludious Italian-style Star Wars knock off. A story of a motley band of rebels "fighting against intergalatic tyranny," the film scores with Christmas light backdrops and David in sequins.
A night of oggling for only $7.50--who said that money can't buy happiness?
If you haven't already heard, Boston based sQuare productions is throwing a big fundraising bash on August 26. They are looking to raise money to finish Speaking in Code, the feature length documentary that follows characters in underground electronic music -- Robot builders who love to dance, rambunctious bad boy producers who love their mothers, vodka guzzling east German DJs, techno evangelists (and more…).
Some hot clips from the film in progress will be shown throughout the night culminating in a fully-edited10-minute sequence of charismatic BPitch Control duo Modeselektor who are about to play the gig of their career: the mega-rave at Sonar By Night in Barcelona, June 2006. It's amazing stuff.

Cold Duck Complex, a brilliant collective of talented and original artists, is headlining this Friday at the Paradise Lounge. The show, which also features hip-hop band Savin iLL, will also serve as the launch party for CDC’s anticipated second full-length album, Enough.
The band oozes positive energy, and with a combination of poignant lyrics that’ll make you both laugh at and philosophize about life, paired with dance-worthy hip-hop beats, Cold Duck Complex should definitely prove to be crowd-pleasing.
The new album features the funky stylings of Joe Cardozo, Platypus Complex, Makaya McCraven, and recently amicably departed member, Jeff D’Antona. The original lineup started playing together in high school in western Massachusetts, after their first successful gig at a talent show in 2000. Since then, CDC has earned a loyal fan-base all over New England and New York and will probably convert many more this Friday.
