South and Midwest: Bright and getting brighter

Rising over the St. Louis arch into the national spotlight is Huey, who's "Pop, Drop & Lock It" Brought that sexy Midwest drawl that Nelly and Chingy have made so hot back into the hip hop game. The track "When I Hustle" featuring Lloyd is a sure classic from his new album Notebook Paper. The inspiration, he says, naturally came from his surroundings. "Okay, you're young. You got guns around you. You got drugs around you. You got cars stuntin'. You got alcoholics. You got all this around you. When you place it into a notebook, this is your rhyme. So basically, everything is the truth. You place it into this notebook and off of the game, you're makin' paper. You gettin' dust now. Why not call your album Notebook Paper?" The album drops June 19th, but if you need to get your hip hop fix, look no further then the South's UGK and Outkast's brand new hit "International Players Anthem". Thank god Outkast didn't forreal drop off, because the video to the song is the reason we've always loved them and the reason hip hop is as colorful as it is today. You gotta look at these collabs like stars, some gotta die down a little for others to get bright, but when the two come together.. it's pure fire!!
