The Laughing Madcap Dies at Age 60. On Tuesday, July 7th, the
beloved and infamously reclusive
Syd Barrett passed away at the age of 60. Syd
Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd, was the influential
singer/songwriter/lead guitarist of the band as well as an acclaimed solo artist. His beautiful, at times haunting voice and spacey lyrics has influenced
artists such as David Bowie and John Frusciante. Although Syd has left the
physical earth, the music he leaves behind will retain the memory of his genius
forever. Shine on you crazy diamond, Shine on.

- Karmaloop Boston's ( 160 Newbury Street ) grand opening party at Underbar on Thursday, November 17 2005 was dope! Reebok was the chief sponsor of the event and Reebok folks were out in full force! Red Bull and Triple Five Soul were additional sponsors of the two fabulous VIP sections where many of their respective crews were nesting around the small tables laden with bottles.
