Following in the shoes of AV( another music website), I can’t criticize that you too should pluck the Intertron’s(internet) low-hanging fruits to harvest Imogen Heap's amazing new solo album. You may legally import it for exorbitant prices starting February 18th from Amazon.co.uk, wait for it to come out in the States later this month and buy it from the retailer (or e-tailer) of your choice, or you could simply do as I have done: travel into the future to listen it. My overall opinion of this album is, of course, that it's excellent, borne out by the fact that I've played it 10 times since I got it late last night/this morning.
Of course, having not heard her first solo album "I Megaphone" I can't draw any conclusions about how her style may have shifted as a result of collaborating with Guy Sigsworth. I can say that this album seems to be a more raw, aggressive Frou Frou—heavily electronic with a marked pop sensibility. In an age where most pop music consists of vapid and un-engaging cookie-cutter songs performed by stars instead of songwriters, Imogen Heap's brand of well-written, catchy and intelligent pop is a welcome relief.
