Da Great Da Bate

We’ve all argued about which artists have "sold out" and which ones are "underground." We’ve decided who’s "in it for the money" and who’s "in it for the fame." It’s just one of those debates that refined gentlemen and gentlewoman like us can’t seem to avoid. There are a few deities of music, however, that surpass our scrutinizing altogether. ATMOSPHERE is one of those gods. They have been a legend of underground hip-hop for almost 10 years now and continues to produce music that’s straight from his (angry/cheeky/sort-of-insane) heart. So after a two-year, too-long break, they have released You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having. Based on the title, I guess they hadn't missed us as much as we’ve missed them, but whatever, they're back! Still more ill, they are playing a show in Boston on October 13th. My guess is they want to check out the new Karmaloop store! So hit up this site, you can hear sound clips, buy the album, read reviews or simply worship the spirits of song. No human sacrifices please.

The Throw Backs

Whoa, do you remember Fashion Plates Fashion Designer, where you construct outfits by rubbing over ridged tiles with crayons? What about Glo Worm, the stuffed animal whose eerie green light somehow makes the dark scarier? And Dizzy Dizzy Dinosaur, the game with the crazy T-Rex that always goes flying off the board and gets hair and fuzz stuck in the wheels so it doesn’t work? There are so many toys from the 80’s that I forgot about! This web site lists hundreds of our-gen toys, many with pictures. You won’t believe the terrible stuff you liked back then. Shopgirl

I don't know about you but I love Jason Schwartzman! And guess what! He's going to be starring in a new movie called Shopgirl (also starring Claire Danes and Steve Martin). Basically it's sort of a love story, Mirabelle (Claire Danes) falls in love with Ray (Steve Martin), love for them seems to fade and she wonders if she should take a chance on Jeremy (Jason Schwartzman) a "struggling musician". I know the description is kind of vague, but any movie with Jason in it has to be hilarious! Check out the official website for more info!
