Who Can Resist a Little Film Noir?
The 1958 film, Elevator to the Gallows (Louis Malle’s first feature), is making its way back to
the box office. The film stars Jeanne Moreau and hosts an extraordinary score by Miles Davis (in addition to a steamy affair and a murder plot)! It’s a must see!
Varvatos Designs for Converse
There are so many designer collaborations going on I can’t even keep up. John Varvatos, famous for his upscale men’s and women’s collections, has recently designed 13 pairs of sneakers for Converse. I think my favorites are the Chuck Taylor Peace Hi-Tops.
Instrument Oddities
Oddmusic.com is strictly for lovers of unique, experimental, and “strange” music. On their gallery page there are pictures, music samples and information on some very peculiar instruments like the beer bottle organ that I have pictured here.
Artist Web Projects
Lately I seem to be stumbling upon these Artist Web Projects. It’s fun to be able to sit in front of your computer and view art as if you were in a museum. On the Dia Art Foundation’s website there are a whole bunch of projects, the latest being Approximations/Contradictions. Try not to lose your patience waiting for the pages to load!

Karmaloop Boston Grand Opening Party
- Karmaloop Boston's ( 160 Newbury Street ) grand opening party at Underbar on Thursday, November 17 2005 was dope! Reebok was the chief sponsor of the event and Reebok folks were out in full force! Red Bull and Triple Five Soul were additional sponsors of the two fabulous VIP sections where many of their respective crews were nesting around the small tables laden with bottles.
