Jay-Z is the self proclaimed king of New York. Though this title may not come from straight up royal blood we can call him king when it comes to his reign in music, fashion and business. Karmaloop has backed Triko from the beginning. This is why we were so physked when we heard Jay Z was a Triko fan. We got some images of him performing in Triko gear.
Check out the pics of Jay Z on the Triko brand page at Karmaloop
The garbege FYI newsletter is dedicated to the advancement of its reader’s knowledge and interests in the international arenas of design, style and substance. The purpose of this weekly bulletin is to forecast trends, inform, inspire and occasionally amuse. Playing off of the words garb, meaning garment and edge, as in cutting edge, garbege redefines fashion for early-adopters who possess refined sensibilities for everything from fashion to politics - impacting the way they think, appear, and understand the world.
Have you tried StyleFeeder? It's a social shopping site -- a giant wishlist for the whole web you can share with your friends. The idea is to highlight your favorite stuff online (Karmaloop, duh), browse your friends' wishlists to see what they like, and rate other people's picks to get recommendations for yourself. Rating and tagging stuff can get pretty addictive, but the best part is finding something you like that you would never have found before. That's how I found Creature Co-Op, for example.
KarmaLoop's own Giovannah has a pretty nice selection, but don't take her word for what's good. See (and rate!) the whole world of jeans, sneakers , hats, and a world of everything else: somebody put an alpaca in there once.
Move over T. rex, there’s a new king of the Cretaceous. A University of Alberta paleontologist was part of a team to unveil what may be one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs ever known. The U of Alberta’s Dr. Philip Currie and Professor Rodolfo Coria of the Museo Carmen Funes in Argentina have identified and named the new species ‘Mapusaurus Roseae’.
“Over the last decade, people have become increasingly aware of a group of gigantic meat-eating dinosaurs called carcharodontosaurids,” said Currie. “These animals include Giganotosaurus, which was larger than the largest-known specimen of Tyrannosaurus rex. After four years of working in a dinosaur quarry in Argentina, we discovered that we had a new species of carcharodontosaurid that we called Mapusaurus roseae.”

The vast right wing conspiracy continues The Fox Rupert Murdoch Empire has gobbled up Myspace for $600 Million Dollars, and the revolt has just begun. Why might you ask would Fox want to own Myspace home to the denizens of cutting edge culture who communicate with their like minded friends worldwide? Is it to know what “those crazy young people are thinking” so they can craft their conservative message in a light and hip way? Or is it a more sinister desire to know the personal info and inner most desires of tons of forward thinking people? Or is it just a way that the monopolistic behemoth can pump more of their garbage programming into the lives of the influencers in a sneaky and round about way? What ever it is good by FoxSpace and hello Friendster….the revolution will not be televised! By Walter Winchal
Karmaloop Boston's ( 160 Newbury Street ) grand opening party at Underbar on Thursday, November 17 2005 was dope!
Reebok was the chief sponsor of the event and Reebok folks were out in full force! Red Bull and Triple Five Soul were additional sponsors of the two fabulous VIP sections where many of their respective crews were nesting around the small tables laden with bottles.
